flydubai said an altercation inside the cockpit led to the diversion of flight FZ1073 on Wednesday. The flight was travelling from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport.
The airline said its crew brought the situation under control, before diverting the aircraft that landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.
“All passengers and crew members are safe,” flydubai said. “We operated two alternative flights to Tabuk and are giving the highest priority to transporting passengers and enabling them to complete their journey to Tel Aviv.”
The circumstances behind the incident are yet to be established, the airline added, urging everyone to refrain from speculation as authorities establish the facts.
“Our top priority at this time is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the passengers and crew involved in the incident and supporting the official investigation,” the statement said.
