The UAE has said it favours diplomacy and negotiations to resolve the regional crisis.
Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, in an interview with France 24, said the goal is to find a political solution that endures.
“This is the time for diplomacy. The current situation of no war, no peace is not sustainable,” he said. In response to a question, he said it is not too late to negotiate an end to the crisis.
“We really do have to find a political solution that will be a lasting solution,” he said in the interview posted on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Last week, Dr Gargash said the UAE would protect its interests and that trust with Iran needs to be rebuilt. He added that the UAE could continue to keep communication channels open with the Iranian leadership, particularly with President Masoud Pezeshkian.
