ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport reported flight disruptions on Wednesday as tensions in the region rose again with the US and Iran trading strikes since Sunday.

Etihad flights from 11 cities, including Karachi, Rome, Tel Aviv, Delhi, Peshawar, Chennai, Colombo, Prague, Lisbon, Bangkok, and Phuket were behind schedule. Twelve departing flights of the Abu Dhabi carrier were delayed.

Seven Air Arabia flights to the capital were also running late, and six departures of the airline reported delays. Meanwhile, an Air India Express flight to Delhi also ran behind schedule.

While UAE airlines like Etihad, Emirates, Air Arabia and flydubai are flying to fewer destinations, four foreign airlines: Air Canada, Virgin Atlantic, Finnair and Luxair said they would resume flights to Dubai only next year due to the regional situation.

Etihad’s operations continue to 90 destinations, while Emirates is flying to 140 routes despite the ongoing developments.
