ABU DHABI (ALEITHAD)

Abu Dhabi Police are making sure traffic flow is smooth as schools reopen after the summer break on August 31.

Police will increase patrols at intersections, internal and external roads, and around schools, particularly during morning and afternoon peak hours, to reduce congestion and facilitate the movement of school buses and other road users.

Drivers have been urged to observe speed limits, reduce speed near schools, remain alert for students crossing roads, avoid distractions, and follow the instructions of traffic officers and security patrols.

The plan also includes improved safety measures at pedestrian crossings and around schools to ensure students reach their schools and return home safely.

The Integrated Transport Centre, Department of Education and Knowledge, Emirates Transport, Saaed for Traffic Systems, and Q Mobility (Mawaqif) will implement the plan with the police.
