The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) General Headquarters, in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, has emphasised the importance of drivers and road users adhering to responsible behaviour that reflects the positive image of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

It urged motorists to refrain from littering from vehicles while driving in order to protect the environment, safeguard public health, and preserve the emirate’s civilised image.

The authority explained that littering from vehicles is a traffic offence under Article 71 of the Traffic Law and carries a fine of Dh1,000, in addition to six black points being recorded against the offending driver.

Abu Dhabi Police also called on drivers to educate their passengers about the importance of disposing of waste in designated areas and adopting positive practices that contribute to environmental protection and public cleanliness.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuing awareness campaigns aimed at promoting a culture of social responsibility among road users and reducing uncivilised behaviour resulting from negligence or indifference, given its adverse impact on the environment and quality of life.
