DUBAI (ALETIHAD)
The General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police returned a lost bag containing valuables to a passenger as she was about to fly out.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Force located the female passenger and handed over her bag, which she had lost in Terminal 1, with all its valuable contents.
Recounting the incident, Colonel Abdullah Faisal Al Dosari, Director of the Terminal 1 Security Department, explained that an employee found a black bag in an open area containing cash, gold and other currencies among other valuables.
“Upon inspecting its contents, the bag was found to contain $20,000, 150 grams of gold, other currencies, mobile phones of various brands, and personal documents."
Col. Al Dosari noted that while the documents revealed the identity of the bag's owner, locating and contacting her required forming a team to trace her movements, especially since no report had been filed for lost property matching this description.
"The operations room was notified and the necessary procedures were taken to locate the bag's owner. She was about to leave the country for Saudi Arabia, and was extremely worried about losing her bag, unsure how to proceed, and afraid of missing her flight," Col. Al Dosari further added.
Dubai Police handed the bag over to the traveller after completing the necessary legal procedures and verifying the required permits and documentation.
