ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The pilot phase of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (MoFA) Digital Attestation Service for digital documents begins on Monday, April 27.

The service enables the digital attestation of electronic documents carrying a verification feature  –  QR code, reference number, or barcode – allowing users to obtain attestation from the ministry and UAE missions in the destination country, through MoFA's digital channels, including the website and smart application.

The move comes in line with the ministry's strategic vision to deliver proactive and smart digital services, and in response to customer feedback and needs.

The new system streamlines the attestation process, reducing it from eight steps to three and from two processes to one, offering a simpler and more efficient experience.

Individuals and companies can apply for the services through MoFA's digital channels, including its website (www.mofa.gov.ae), smart app UAE MOFA.

The attestation method is determined based on whether the document is digital or non-digital.

The service allows the attestation of up to five documents per application, with payment of the total applicable fees for all documents, according to the ministry.

Under the pilot phase, the service is completed within two hours during official working hours.

Key Requirements

To get an e-document attested, it must be issued in the UAE and must contain a verifiable feature such as a QR code, a barcode or a reference number, according to the ministry.

The user can log in using UAE Pass to access the service. On the dashboard, select "UAE Attestations", provide the required information, and upload documents - up to five per application.

Upon submission, users receive a payment receipt and email confirmation, with tracking details available in My Workspace, such as tracking number or submission date.

A detailed user guide is available on the MoFA website.
