Paid parking will be introduced next month across a number of areas in Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed Bin Zayed City (MBZ City), following an announcement on Monday by the emirate’s mobility solutions provider, Q Mobility.

The system, which will be activated on April 6, will apply to the commercial sectors ME10 and ME11, while parking in villa zones Z27, Z20, Z19, Z29 and Z17-01 will be restricted to permit holders.

In a statement on Monday, Q Mobility said that the move is intended to ensure smoother traffic flow in one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest residential and commercial districts, located adjacent to the Musaffah industrial area.

“Q Mobility will activate a paid parking system in several commercial sectors and villa areas in MBZ [City]on 6 April 2026, aiming to enhance parking management and traffic flow within the area,” the company said in a statement.

The announcement comes a month after Q Mobility, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company ADQ, opened four multi-storey parking facilities in MBZ City, under Abu Dhabi’s Mawaqif system. Together, the new facilities provide 1,446 spaces.

Two of the buildings, located in sector ME10, provide 346 parking spaces, while the other two are in sectors ME12 and ME9, near villa areas.

Once paid parking is rolled out, motorists will be able to pay fees via the TAMM and DARB apps, with standard parking rates set at Dh2 per hour.

MBZ City is one of Abu Dhabi’s fastest-growing urban centres, with the Department of Municipalities and Transport last year opening up 33 parks to enhance liveability across its various sectors.

As MBZ City continues to expand, the introduction of structured parking systems will play a key role within the wider strategy to support sustainable urban growth while maintaining accessibility and reducing traffic congestion for the benefit of residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
