ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Abu Dhabi Police has called on motorists to drive with caution, follow safety guidelines, and stay alert to water accumulation on the roads during rainfall and unstable weather.
Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Baloushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, said driving in rainy conditions requires heightened attention due to reduced visibility and the increased risk of skidding. He stressed the importance of reducing speed, and of maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.
Al Baloushi also urged drivers to avoid the most common safety risks when driving, including speeding, lane switching, distracted driving, and sudden swerving.
Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to ensure vehicles are road-ready—particularly tyres, wipers and lights—and to avoid driving in low-lying areas, valleys, or places where water can accumulate.
