ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Etihad Airways has extended the suspension of all scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi until 6am UAE time on Friday, March 6 due to ongoing regional airspace disruption.

In an operational update, the airline said a limited number of repositioning, cargo and repatriation flights are operating in coordination with UAE authorities and subject to strict operational and safety approvals.

“Regional airspace closures continue to impact operations and all scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended until [6am] UAE time  Friday, 06 March 2026,” the airline said.

The airline added that select services are available for sale for travel on March 4 and 5 where approvals have been confirmed.

What passengers should know

Passengers have been advised not to travel to the airport unless they have a purchased or confirmed booking issued within the last 24 hours. Access to the airport will be restricted for those without confirmed travel documentation.

Guests due to travel are advised to:

• Check their flight status before travelling to the airport
• Ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking

Passengers holding Etihad tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, with original travel dates up to March 10 may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to March 31.

Guests scheduled to travel on Etihad flights until March 10 may also request a refund through the airline or their travel agent.

Passengers who booked through travel agencies are advised to contact their agents directly for assistance.

Ongoing monitoring

Etihad said it is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and encouraged passengers seeking refunds to use the online refund request form where possible.

“Safety remains our absolute priority, and services will operate only once all safety criteria are met,” the airline said.

Further updates will be issued as developments evolve.
