Under the patronage of Sheikha Moza bint Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ambassador of Elderly Projects at PureHealth, the Our Mothers Walkathon has been launched by PureHealth and the Family Development Foundation, in collaboration with ADNOC and Active Abu Dhabi, to support the health and wellbeing of female senior citizens and residents across the emirate.
The community initiative encourages regular walking as a simple and accessible form of physical activity, contributing to improved quality of life and fostering a shared culture of health.
Since its launch, the walkathon has recorded more than 4.8 million steps over six weeks, with participation from women in Al Dhafra Region. Participants’ vital indicators have been monitored using the Pura Health System to assess health outcomes.
Building on the initiative’s reach, a second season of the challenge will target male senior citizens and residents, expanding participation and reinforcing community engagement in healthy lifestyles.
