People-to-people ties built on shared history and values were at the heart of discussions at the UAE–Kuwait Media Forum, as speakers highlighted the role of media, culture, and education in nurturing bilateral bonds.

Held on Thursday as part of UAE-Kuwait Week celebrations, the UAE-Kuwait Media Forum brought together media professionals, cultural figures, academics, youth, and veterans in discussions that dived into the two countries' brotherhood and the development journey it shaped over the decades.

Speakers elaborated on bilateral ties that went beyond politics to encompass shared history, culture, values, and social bonds.

"The relationship between the UAE and Kuwait cannot be expressed in words-it is proven through historical positions and shared experiences," said Kuwaiti media professionals Mohammed Baqer and Yousef Al Kandari from Khabbazin Media.

"When I come to the UAE, I feel as though I am among my own family. There is no distance between us; Emiratis and Kuwaitis are one community," he added.

The forum emphasised how shared initiatives, collaborative storytelling, and digital platforms contribute to reinforcing Gulf unity, empowering the youth, and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Reflecting on the cultural and educational exchange between the two countries, Dr Habib Al Attar, Secretary-General of the Theatrical Artists Association, spoke about his own artistic journey that began when he studied theatre in Kuwait.

"I was among the early graduates, and that experience played a fundamental role in shaping my artistic path," he said. "Kuwait's artistic and academic environment left a lasting imprint on many Emirati creatives, and I continue to carry that influence with me."

The forum also underscored the impact of youth engagement and digital media in strengthening people-to-people ties. Aryam Falah, a Kuwaiti student at the University of Sharjah, shared how living in the UAE felt like home from the outset. "Being here made me feel a strong sense of belonging and warmth, as if I were among my own people. Celebrating UAE-Kuwait Week shows the genuine spirit of brotherhood that unites us."

Beyond speeches, the forum fostered interactive discussions and cultural exchanges, immersing attendees in the vibrant arts scene, sports, and heritage of the Gulf. Participants described the event as a "warm, fraternal space", where ideas flowed freely, memories were shared, and a sense of unity prevailed.

The UAE–Kuwaiti Media Forum concluded by reaffirming the role of media, culture, and education as vital tools for documenting shared history, amplifying youth voices, and strengthening lasting bonds. The event stood as a living testament to a relationship that is not only historic but dynamic, ever-growing, and rooted in trust and enduring brotherhood.
