Abu Dhabi Police has approved a comprehensive security plan to safeguard the New Year 2026 celebrations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with strategic partners.
The plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce traffic congestion.
In a statement issued by the force, Brigadier Mohammed Dhahi Al Hamiri, Director of Central Operations, explained that Abu Dhabi Police has prepared a joint security plan to secure tourist areas, shopping centres, and traffic movement during the New Year's Eve celebrations, ensuring the safety and security of the public.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Central Operations affirmed its readiness to enhance road safety by taking all necessary precautions and measures. It urged road users to remain alert, comply with traffic laws and speed limits, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
The Directorate also warned against unruly practices such as using party sprays, reckless driving, and causing noise disturbances.
It called on the public to adhere to rules, aimed at ensuring safety and protection for all during New Year's Eve celebrations, reflecting the honourable image of the UAE.
Meanwhile, the Command and Control Centre of the Operations Department within Central Operations has completed its preparations for New Year’s Eve and the New Year, Abu Dhabi Police added.
Colonel Ali Muftah Al Aryani, Director of the Operations Department, stated that Abu Dhabi Police has deployed the best technologies and personnel as part of the security plan.
He called on community members to contact the Central Operations Room in case of emergencies at 999.
