The UAE’s foreign policy will continue to prioritise competitiveness, technology, and humanitarian leadership as it reinforces its role as a positive and constructive force regionally and globally, Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, said during the UAE Government Annual Meetings on Wednesday.
Speaking at the meetings’ UAE International Press Conference, Dr Gargash emphasised the country’s commitment to strengthening its economy, advancing technology partnerships, and consolidating its humanitarian and diplomatic role in the region.
“The continuous focus on bolstering the UAE’s economy and competitiveness is central to our foreign policy,” he said.
Dr Gargash stressed that the UAE’s foreign policy leverages economic strength to advance politics, peace, and stability, fostering balanced relationships with global powers based on shared interests and mutual respect.
He said the coming phase would see further efforts to enhance cooperation and position the economy as a key driver of regional collaboration.
Technology will continue to be a major pillar of the UAE’s external engagement, Dr Gargash said.
“The UAE will persist in advancing its technological agenda with the same energy and focus. We are gradually moving from being investors to partners, and eventually participants, in global technological development. This is an important and strategic direction for the UAE in the years ahead.”
He added that the UAE will remain an attractive hub for talent, entrepreneurs, and specialists from around the world, thanks to its forward-looking and competitive policies.
Dr Gargash also highlighted that the humanitarian dimension of the UAE’s foreign policy will grow stronger, citing the UAE’s active role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The UAE contributes effectively to promoting peace and stability in the region and the world, and makes significant efforts to drive sustainable development for communities, he said.
