The energy sector serves as a key driving force as the UAE’s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) works towards its goals under Operation 300bn, the nation’s industrial strategy, an official from the ministry told Aletihad during ADIPEC.

Through Operation 300bn led by MoIAT, the UAE aims to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to GDP to Dh300 billion by 2030.

“Energy plays a vital role in the targets of the Dh300 billion strategy and will continue being a key player,” Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary of the Industry Accelerators Sector at MoIAT, told Aletihad.

“One of the key sectors within the strategy is energy —  transforming our energy sector in terms of efficiency, productivity, and advanced technologies, such as batteries and hydrogen.”

To achieve its vision, MoIAT has introduced a wide range of enablers and incentives designed to promote investment opportunities across multiple sectors, with energy being a major focus, according to Fadhel.

Among the ministry’s major initiatives is the launch of procurement opportunities worth over Dh168 billion, aimed at localising the manufacturing of critical components and products within the UAE — many of which are tied directly to the energy industry, Fadhel said.

At ADIPEC 2025, MoIAT showcases the capabilities of the UAE’s industrial sector in the energy domain. It presents “various enablers and incentives that have been launched as part of the national strategy”, he said.

The ministry is also highlighting its ‘Make it in the Emirates’ campaign, an open invitation for local and international investors, innovators and developers to join the UAE on its journey of industrial growth.

“‘Make it in the Emirates’ today is a bridge between the energy and industry sectors,” Fadhel said.
