As part of its efforts to promote consumer rights and financial literacy, Sanadak recently hosted the ‘Sanadak Coffee Corner’, offering an interactive platform where the community can learn about managing financial matters and resolving disputes through its services.
Established in 2023, Sanadak is the first financial Ombudsman in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, aiming to set the benchmark for fair, transparent, and effective complaint resolution within the financial and insurance sectors.
During the latest event under its ongoing “Know Your Rights as a Consumer” drive, the Sanadak team outlined the complaint-handling process. Consumers should first submit complaints to licensed financial institutions and await a response within 15 calendar days, the team said.
If the complaint remains unresolved, it can be formally submitted to Sanadak, which guarantees neutrality, confidentiality, and transparency in reviewing each case. The unit also uses an integrated electronic system, allowing consumers to track the status of their complaints through its website, call centre, or mobile application.
Real-life complaints and successful resolutions were highlighted during the event, demonstrating Sanadak’s role in settling disputes. Attendees also engaged in open discussions, sharing ideas on protecting financial rights within the community.
Fayza Al Awadhi, CEO and Managing Director of Sanadak, said such initiatives help foster a trustworthy and sustainable financial environment.
"Direct communication with consumers and educating them about their duties, responsibilities, and rights strengthens their confidence in the UAE’s financial system and enhances the mechanisms for resolving banking and insurance disputes,” she said.
By educating and engaging with the community, the unit ensures residents can confidently navigate the financial system with full knowledge of their rights.
"Sanadak shall set the benchmark for excellence in consumer complaints resolution through clear, effective, and transparent processes, with the ultimate aim of safeguarding trust in the UAE’s financial sector," Al Awadhi said.
Simplifying financial literacy and educating consumers about their rights and responsibilities, Sanadak recently held an awareness event.
