BATOOL GHAITH (ABU DHABI)
Abu Dhabi's commitment to enhancing people’s quality of life takes centre stage with the government's strategic use of artificial intelligence.
In an interview with Aletihad during GITEX Global 2025, Khalfan Al Jasmi, Product Management Director at the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) – TAMM, discussed how AI is transforming Abu Dhabi’s public services and shaping the future of government operations in the UAE.
According to Aljasmi, the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025 - 2027 is linked to making people’s lives easier by utilising AI in services to save time and effort for the customer.
“The primary goal of the Abu Dhabi Government is to be fully reliant on AI in all aspects, whether in health, education, or transportation or any other sector, with the aim of improving the lives of people,” Aljasmi told Aletihad.
He noted that digital channels available worldwide offer services in a traditional manner, through digital flow. However, the TAMM application is proactive. It anticipates the customer’s needs and suggests the necessary actions based on that.
Currently, there are more than 1,100 services available on TAMM — all of which are 100% digital. End-to-end integration — which means the customer does not need to use other channels than TAMM — is the core idea of the application, Aljasmi explained.
“This year, we reached 3.6 million users on the TAMM platform. The satisfaction rate of users across government services is 92%, and our target is 95%,” he added.
He emphasised that the government continually strives to enhance services in alignment with the leadership’s vision and forward-looking aspirations.
"At the TAMM Factory, we regularly host delegations from various countries, including ministers, executive directors, and government leaders, who seek to learn how to adapt and implement the TAMM programme within their own nations,” Aljasmi said.
“Our goal is for TAMM to serve as a global model for service delivery.”
The platform is positioning Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global hub and benchmark, in line with the government's ambitious vision, he said.
"We were the first government globally to integrate AI into the service delivery process, creating an in-house AI-driven model within Abu Dhabi's workflow. Through an interactive chat experience, all service steps are completed seamlessly within the chat itself, eliminating the need to navigate elsewhere,” Aljasmi explained.
“We are driven by the vision of our government and wise leadership to ensure the sustainability of services — always with a focus on the human element,” he said.
