The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), in collaboration with Advanced Mobility Hub, carried out an operational trial using autonomous drones in Abu Dhabi to monitor and manage traffic in the Mussafah area.
The drones were equipped with advanced sensors and live streaming technology to detect road incidents with accuracy and speed, Abu Dhabi Mobility said in a statement on its social media platforms. The authority also posted a video showing the drone in action.
"The trial demonstrated the vital role of modern technologies in accelerating response times and enhancing road safety, supporting Abu Dhabi’s vision for a smarter and more sustainable mobility system," the authority added.
