Dubai Police honours honest student for returning wallet with Dh200,000 cheque

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

Al Qusais Police Station surprised a student at Dubai Secondary School with a special recognition in appreciation of his honesty upon returning a wallet containing cash and a cheque valued at Dh200,000.

The student took swift action to return the wallet to its owner. The Dubai Police rewarded the student and commended his actions in the presence of his classmates.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of Al Qusais Police Station, presented the recognition to student Essa Abbas Muhammad Abdullah, in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz Al Khaja, Head of the Administrative Affairs Section. The gesture highlighted the student’s integrity and the positive example he set for his peers.

Lt. Col. Al Hashemi said the recognition comes under the “We Reach You to Thank You” initiative, which honours community members and partners at their own locations and among their colleagues. He praised the student’s exemplary conduct, and his prompt communication with the police to ensure the wallet and funds were safely returned, calling on the public to follow his example of honesty and civic responsibility.

The student expressed his gratitude to Dubai Police, represented by Al Qusais Police Station, noting that the recognition was a source of pride and a memorable moment to share with his classmates.
