Visitors to ADIHEX 2025 can step inside Abu Dhabi’s natural world without leaving the exhibition hall, thanks to the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi’s (EAD) interactive pavilion.

Arwa Diab, Analyst – Youth and Community at EAD, guided Aletihad through its showcase of augmented-reality technologies and hands-on experiences that bring the emirate’s terrestrial and marine environments to life.

The pavilion opens with an interactive tunnel, playing scenic footage from EAD’s environmental archives.

“Visitors can immerse themselves in Abu Dhabi’s marine and terrestrial realms, feeling as if they are walking through the natural habitats themselves,” Diab told Aletihad.

One of the pavilion’s highlights is “Suhail”, an AI avatar developed this year to answer questions about Abu Dhabi’s environment, the agency’s projects, and its conservation efforts.

Alongside Suhail, visitors can explore Daleelah, EAD’s innovative web portal and mobile app, which now features over 5,000 terrestrial and marine locations, including protected areas, pearl sites and local geographical terminology.

Users can even hear the correct pronunciation of Emirati terms, connecting cultural heritage with environmental education.

The pavilion also includes a HoloCube, an interactive projection where visitors can select terrestrial species, from reptiles and mammals to birds and invertebrates, and learn detailed information about each, sourced directly from EAD’s experts working in the emirate’s protected areas.

For marine enthusiasts, an LED screen provides an interactive overview of Abu Dhabi’s marine life, including dolphins, turtles, mangroves and coral habitats, along with the agency’s conservation and research initiatives.

A dedicated falconry wall highlights the emirate’s traditional hunting practices, outlining falconry laws, seasonal regulations, and the process to obtain a licence.

Through this immersive experience, Diab explained that EAD aims to bring the community closer to Abu Dhabi’s environment, encouraging visitors of all ages to explore, learn and appreciate the emirate’s unique natural and cultural heritage.
