SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI)
Mohamed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director-General of the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office (WHSO) of the Supreme Council for National Security, on Sunday announced the launch of the Aldar Aman e-platform, featuring the UAE's first-ever licensed weapons trading service.
Aldar Aman, launched on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2025, represents what Al Neyadi described as "a qualitative leap in the WHSO's electronic services". The launch coincided with the signing of two memorandums of understanding with national companies — MP3 International and Bynuna Military & Hunting Equipment Trading — which will support the platform's operations and services.
Designed to ensure transparency and legality in weapons transactions, the platform allows individuals to securely display, sell, and purchase licensed weapons under the supervision of relevant security authorities and within a regulated legal framework.
"This service gives individuals with licensed weapons the opportunity to display them for sale, and those wishing to purchase can do so through the platform," Al Neyadi told Aletihad.
One of the key features of Aldar Aman is its integration with licensed national companies, such as MP3 International and Bynuna Military & Hunting Equipment Trading, which provide inspection and verification services before any transaction is completed.
Owners pay a Dh25 monthly fee to keep their weapons on display, with full electronic documentation and verification to ensure compliance with regulations.
"We give individuals the freedom to set the value of their weapons, and the decision remains with the buyer," Al Neyadi explained, stressing that all procedures are supervised by security authorities.
"Every year, we launch new initiatives and services to make weapons governance easier for citizens," he added.
