Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) General Headquarters has urged motorists in Abu Dhabi to take advantage of the Smart Vehicle Impound Service, available through the “TAMM” platform, which allows them to handle traffic violations in a flexible and convenient way.
The service comes as part of ADP’s efforts to provide innovative and fast solutions that enhance customer experience and save time.
It applies to all types of vehicles—light, heavy, trucks, and buses—and covers most traffic violations.
Drivers can select the vehicle, review related violations, and pay the service fee of Dh15 per day through the “TAMM” platform.
Afterwards, they can take the vehicle to a customer service centre to complete the required procedures, where a staff member installs the smart impound device in the vehicle.
The driver must then park the vehicle at the designated location before 12 midnight.
Once the impound period ends, the driver must return the device to the service centre within 48 hours.
The service offers great flexibility: technicians can be requested to install the device at the vehicle’s location for an additional fee; the vehicle can be impounded anywhere in the UAE, including at home; and it may be started for maintainance purposes when needed.
In emergencies, the vehicle can be used after obtaining official approval, while its movement is monitored by the command-and-control centre.
The device is electronically linked to the monitoring room and sends alerts if the vehicle is moved without authorisation.
