The National Centre of Meteorology has warned that strong winds are expected to cause blowing dust and reduce visibility in some areas across the UAE until 6pm on Saturday, August 16.
The fresh to strong southeasterly winds could reach up to 45km/h, kicking up dust and sand. In turn, this is expected to reduce horizontal visibility to below 2 kilometres in some internal and coastal areas, the weather bureau said.
The authority issued a weather alert, urging people to be on the lookout when engaging in outdoor activities in the vicinity of Habshan, Liwa, Assab and Nahil areas.
