Dubai Police confiscates 656 scooters in 2024

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

The Al Barsha Police Station confiscated 656 scooters last year due to traffic law violations committed by their riders.

The figures was revealed during an inspection visit conducted by Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, as part of the annual inspection programme for general departments and police stations.

The visit was attended by Ahmad Thani bin Ghalita, Acting Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs; Major General Expert Dr. Mohammad Issa Al Adhab, Chairperson of the Police Stations Directors’ Council and Director of the Mounted Police Station, Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of Al Barsha Police Station, and his Deputy Colonel Yusuf Thani Al Muhairi, along with several senior officers.

Strategic Indicators

During the inspection visit, Maj. Gen. Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi reviewed the strategic indicators of Al Barsha Police Station, including key statistics, achievements, and initiatives from the past year. The station recorded a 100% presence rate for on-duty officers at reporting locations, successfully meeting its target.

He also evaluated security coverage in jurisdiction areas, average emergency response times, traffic accident fatality rate per 100,000 population, the overall serious crime rate per 100,000 population, and the percentage of serious known reports.

Road Safety

Al Shamsi received a briefing on the results of security operations aimed at enhancing road safety, mitigating negative traffic behaviors, and apprehending violators through checkpoints established across various areas within the Station's jurisdiction.

Furthermore, he praised the Administrative Affairs Section for its dedicated efforts in promoting happiness among the station's personnel through various initiatives, including support in logistics, social services, job motivation, mental and physical health, and comprehensive training and development. As a result, job satisfaction reached 97% last year, with 100% of employees receiving recognition and motivation, and 90% completing training during the same period.
