Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Sector - Knowledge and Innovation Management, organised several events during Innovation Month.
The Municipality also held an exhibition of innovative projects in collaboration with strategic partners. The event was inaugurated by Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, who toured the exhibition pavilions and highlighted the importance of adopting a creative and innovative approach to enhance services and improve community well-being.
These initiatives reflect the Municipality's commitment to innovation as a key driver of development, ensuring services align with community aspirations and future needs. The Municipality remains dedicated to continuous improvement by integrating the latest creative ideas.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality emphasised that its focus on innovation aims to promote a culture of government innovation among employees, partners, customers, and the wider community. It is committed to fostering a work environment that supports creativity and innovation.
As part of Innovation Month, Abu Dhabi City Municipality and its partners presented more than 15 innovative projects. Participating entities included UAE University, Abu Dhabi University, Higher Colleges of Technology - Abu Dhabi, Khalifa Fund, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, General Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Department of Patrols and Traffic, Government 01, Civil Defense Authority - Abu Dhabi, Al Tamimi Office, and Al Afak Company.
The Municipality's participation in Innovation Month 2025 included an Innovation Exhibition and specialised workshops held at Dolphin Park on Al Gurm Corniche.
The exhibition featured a range of innovative projects, alongside activities recognising participating entities and honouring individuals for their contributions and successfully implemented proposals.
Speaking to Aletihad, Amal Al Junaibi, Director of the Knowledge and Innovation Department at Abu Dhabi Municipality, highlighted the involvement of various entities during the Month of Innovation.
"The municipality encourages innovation through an innovative program that allows personnel and employees to submit suggestions, forming the basis for analyzing previous ideas and enhancing creativity within the municipality," Al Junaibi said.
As a young participant in the exhibition, 10-year-old Masaed Al Kuzaimi from Inventors Association, said: "I was very happy to participate in the Abu Dhabi Municipality Exhibition and showcase my inventions, including the Smart Street System designed to help ambulances move faster without being hindered by traffic jams. This system uses a hydraulic mechanism that mounts the sidewalk, allowing easier access."
"The second invention I showcased was the Mobile Water Desalination Unit, which was designed to help farmers reduce their monthly water bills. This mobile unit uses solar energy to desalinate water, making it suitable for irrigation, and plays a crucial role in preserving the environment and sustainable infrastructure."
"It was an honour for me to present these innovations and contribute to the efforts made to improve transportation and sustainability."
"The municipality encouraged him by showing interest in his innovations and asking him to present them with an innovation that would benefit the municipality through this exhibition as an encouragement for him to continue innovating and caring for the environment," said Umm Mesead Al-Khuzaimi, the young innovator who is over ten years old. It was valued.
His mother, Umm Masaed Al-Khuzaimi, said the the municipality encouraged him and invited him to present his projects.
Zahran Saeed Al Hatemi, Chief Analyst - Survey Spatial Data Department at Abu Dhabi Municipality, is showcasing advanced survey techniques using drone at the exhibition.
"We take pictures of buildings from inside and outside using a 3D laser scanner," he stated.
"We also make use of a drone that is outfitted with the newest technology. We save time and effort by utilizing the newest technologies. In a full day, this drone can cover 2 square kilometres. This drone has a four-hour coverage range."
"This drone may be used to extract building heights, movies, and aerial photographs. This drone can be used to replan current locations or create new ones," he added.
