On the third and final day of the World Governments Summit 2025, Aletihad spoke to participants to get their thoughts on the event and key takeaways.
Omar Khan, Head of Research and Data at Dubai Chambers, said: "Today, we are very happy to be participating in the World Governments Summit. This has an amazing impact on the whole world, where Dubai and the UAE share their best practices and visions, while also absorbing and learning from people worldwide. This is what we are all about - the knowledge economy."
Khan added of Dubai Chamber's participation at the event: "As Dubai Chamber, we were very proud today to share many of our insights and impacts through different initiatives. We presented the Business Climate Index to the press and our stakeholders, where we regularly measure the sentiment of our business community. We assess whether their outlook is positive or negative, identify challenges, and explore how they are addressing risks."
Khan noted that there was a keen focus on trends within AI, technology and sustainability and whether businesses are ready for these future challenges.
"It's a laboratory to test and pilot new ideas, bringing them together and exporting them to the world. With data, AI and the service economy, I believe we're going to see an incredible impact in the coming years."
Paula Muguerza, the global lead of Kearney's Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice, shared her thoughts on the summit and its impact on the future of health.
"I have really enjoyed the days at the summit. The discussions about the future of healthcare, particularly how AI will power it, have been incredible," she said.
Muguerza added: "We are facing significant challenges with an ageing population and the rise of non-communicable diseases. But I believe technology can play a crucial role in preventing and predicting disease. It can also help deliver care that is affordable for governments while achieving great outcomes for their populations."
Muguerza remarked that she left the summit with new insights and a determination to face the challenges that lie ahead.
Yasmeen AlSharaf, Head of Fintech and Innovation Unit at the Central Bank of Bahrain, stressed the importance of collaboration at the World Governments Summit.
She said: "Collaboration is very important. Collaboration between government authorities and innovators is extremely important to enable us to understand, be vigilant of those new emerging business models, and [policies] that will help us to better regulate them."
AlSharaf said she left feeling inspired: "Honestly, the attendance from different nationalities across the globe. And everyone is here, willing to collaborate, willing to share knowledge, share experiences. So that is something really, you know, to be praised."
