The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has reached a remarkable achievement by securing a spot in the Guinness World Records for the largest and most spectacular aerial display of fireworks and drones. This milestone underscores the UAE’s leadership in aviation innovation and airspace management.
The breathtaking event took place during the Gala Dinner Ceremony that concluded the first day of the 4th Global Symposium on Implementation Support and the Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace, hosted in Abu Dhabi from February 10 to 12, 2025.
The aerial show featured impressive light formations, integrating 152 live fireworks with 300 drone rings, showcasing a total of 1,000 drones lighting up the sky over the capital. This world-renowned display, known for its precision, safety, and advanced technology, effectively combined a record number of drones with live fireworks—reflecting the vast potential of drone technology and large-scale air operations.
His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, remarked, "This achievement reinforces the UAE’s vision of integrating emerging technologies and organising a stunning and innovative aerial display with high precision. Breaking the world record with such accuracy and scale reflects our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence in airspace management."
This record-breaking aerial display was executed in collaboration with AOMultimedia & Drones and Flash Art, highlighting the UAE's position as a global leader in aviation, where technological innovation, creativity, and regulatory excellence converge to shape the future.
