The Emirates Red Crescent Authority announced the launch of its Ramadan campaign for the year 2025, under the slogan "Ramadan Continuous Giving", which aims to provide humanitarian support to needy families within the UAE and around the world.
The annual campaign, announced during a press conference on Thursday, embodies the authority's commitment to providing food relief and financial assistance during the Holy Month, in addition to supporting iftar projects, Zakat Al-Fitr, Eid clothing, and Ramadan food supplies.
Rashed Mubarak Al Mansoori, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, said that this campaign comes at a time when the world is witnessing increasing humanitarian crises and disasters, and the Emirates Red Crescent continues to be a model of humanitarian giving and reflects the values of cooperation and solidarity that characterise the Emirati community in the Holy Month.
Al Mansoori said: "We are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis around the world, so we are keen to be behind the scenes, in line with the ongoing humanitarian challenges."
The campaign, which runs throughout Ramadan, assists about 5.6 million people in the UAE and abroad, and includes iftar programmes, Ramadan food, Zakat Al-Fitr, and Eid clothing. Needy families in the UAE benefit from these programmes, which distribute food and financial aid in the various emirates.
The Authority has allocated 80% of its budget to the Iftar Al-Saem programme, which reflects the importance the Authority attaches to this important aspect during the holy month.
The budget for the campaign this year is over Dh54 million, of which Dh22 million will be allocated to support programmes in the UAE, which benefit approximately 1.1 million people. An estimated Dh32 million has been allocated to assist 4.5 million people in 52 countries.
The Authority partners with more than 250 official organisations around the world in operating its charitable projects and aid distribution.
The Authority accepts donations via its website and smart applications, as well as text messages and bank deposits.
