ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

February in the Arabian Gulf region is typically characterised by the continued influence of the Siberian high-pressure system, which brings cold air masses from the north.

During this month, air temperatures generally decrease across the country, though there is a slight increase in temperatures during the second half of the month in certain areas when compared to January.

The region experienced the passage of several low-pressure systems from the west, resulting in unstable weather conditions.

These systems brought fresh winds that stirred up dust and sand, while clouds developed sporadically, leading to occasional rainfall.

The predominant wind pattern during the mornings was southeasterly, which shifted to northwesterly in the afternoons.

In addition, fresh northwesterly winds affected the region.

Relative humidity levels typically rise during February, with fog and mist becoming more frequent, particularly over coastal and internal areas of the country.
