ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) and Member of the Executive Council, highlighted the importance of AI integration in the healthcare sector at the 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.

Al Mansoori participated in roundtable The Future of Health: Redefining Well-Being with Intelligence, held at the UAE Pavilion. The talk explored the critical role of global collaboration in advancing healthcare through technology and responsible innovation, including the integration of AI, and the power of data and digitisation to build a more proactive, personalised, and equitable health system.

He was joined by Prof Orazio Schillaci, the Italian Minister of Health, Joseph Romanelli, President of Human Health International at MSD, Switzerland, and Christophe Weber, President and CEO of Takeda, Japan.

Speaking at the session, Al Mansoori welcomed the immense power of AI to process and find actionable meaning in data, and the opportunity to promote equitable access to data-driven solutions across the globe.

Al Mansoori said: “The progress in AI not only means we have smarter and more powerful tools to process this information, but more importantly, we can use this knowledge to inform actions. A healthy population is the cornerstone of a thriving economy—when citizens are healthy, productivity, innovation, and communities will flourish.

“Abu Dhabi’s vision is to create the most intelligent and efficient health system possible, one that predicts, prevents, and acts. By harnessing advanced technologies, real-world evidence, and global partnerships, we are addressing tomorrow’s health challenges, ensuring a healthier future for all.”

He also emphasised Abu Dhabi’s commitment to fostering global collaboration as a cornerstone of its healthcare strategy. He outlined how the Emirate is working with global partners including governments, industry leaders, and academic institutions worldwide to tackle shared challenges, drive responsible innovation, and develop sustainable healthcare models that serve diverse populations.

Through partnerships with organisations like Takeda and MSD amongst others, Abu Dhabi is advancing personalised medicine, rare disease treatments, and precision healthcare, setting a global benchmark for innovation.

Al Mansoori concluded by emphasising the importance of global collaboration in building resilient healthcare systems that benefit all, and invited participants to join Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, taking place in April 2025, under the theme Towards Longevity: Redefining Health and Well-Being. This highly anticipated event will bring together global leaders to explore actionable solutions and strengthen partnerships that advance health and well-being worldwide.
