ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Majalis Abu Dhabi has hosted two lectures to mark the third anniversary of the January 17, 2022 incident, when Houthi drones attacked Abu Dhabi's Mussafah area.
The first lecture, titled ‘Gallantry: 17 January, the Emirati Will in the Face of the Forces of Darkness’, was held at Majlis Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi. The lecture was delivered by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research.
His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council, delivered the second lecture, held under the title ‘Gallantry: UAE First’, at Mreifia Majlis in Al Ain.
The lectures discussed the concept of Gallantry (in Arabic, Al Nakhwah), which embodies the values of pride, chivalry and courage that characterised the UAE's swift response to the incident. The UAE’s leadership dealt with the situation wisely and firmly in the face of the terrorist threat, which aimed to undermine regional security and peace.
The two lectures highlighted the international support of the UAE following the incident, and the solidarity and unity demonstrated by the UAE people out of their high sense of patriotism and loyalty to the leadership.
The lectures also addressed the UAE's participation in the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, based on the UAE’s commitment to supporting stability in the region.
The participation also aligns with the country’s keenness to protect its national gains to preserve its security and safety, reflecting its ability to counter any threats aimed at undermining its security and stability, while reinforcing its strategic weight in regional and international issues.
