H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), received at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden who is currently visiting the UAE.
The meeting included discussions on the strong ties between the two countries and their peoples, as well as ways to enhance these relations to serve mutual interests.
It also focused on the importance of fostering collaboration between women’s organisations in both nations, contributing to the empowerment of women and strengthening family stability.
H.H. Sheikha Fatima welcomed Dr. Biden’s visit, expressing her hope that it would further promote cooperation and the exchange of experiences in the field of women's initiatives between the UAE and the United States.
She also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships and international collaboration between friendly countries in developing innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by women globally.
Sheikha Fatima also emphasised that Emirati women play a vital role across various sectors of national development. Their significant contributions have been pivotal in the UAE’s comprehensive progress across all fields.
She credited the UAE’s wise leadership for empowering Emirati women to achieve remarkable milestones at local, regional, and international levels.
Dr. Jill Biden praised Sheikha Fatima's efforts in supporting Emirati women and her continuous initiatives to promote motherhood, childhood, and youth development.
She expressed admiration for the significant achievements of Emirati women, who have attained prominent positions across various sectors.
The US First Lady also commended the UAE’s cultural boom in diverse fields, highlighting the country’s remarkable progress and its positive impact on all aspects of life, particularly in empowering women as a cornerstone of societal development.
The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhas, female ministers, women leaders, and Martina A. Strong, Ambassador of the United States to the UAE, along with the delegation accompanying the US First Lady.
