ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The National Center of Meteorology has issued a climate summary for the month of December in the UAE.
According to the weather forecast, December is considered the last month of the autumn season with December 23 marking the beginning of winter solstice.
This month is the start of 'meteorological winter' where the mean maximum and mean minimum air temperatures decrease by 3 to 6 degrees as compared to November.
The country is affected by the extension of a high-pressure system from the north accompanied by northwesterly airflow, causing a significant decrease in air temperatures during the nights, especially over internal parts and mountains; also, the country is affected by westerly upper air troughs leading to the development of low and medium clouds with chances of rain associated with thunder at times.
Humidity
The relative humidity increases, especially during early mornings, due to the passage of moist and moderate air masses over the Arabian Gulf toward the country, which is favourable conditions for fog /mist formation.
