The second day of the Global Media Congress 2024, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, will feature a series of sessions and discussions focused on the future of media, key emerging trends, and the challenges facing the global media industry.
The event will welcome leading experts, specialists, and prominent figures in local, regional, and international media.
Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, will deliver a keynote address on the second day of the Congress, sharing his vision for The Future of Media and the critical role of innovation in achieving the sector's aspirations.
He will also underscore the importance of leveraging modern technologies to ensure the media industry adapts to global transformations.
The day will feature several keynote sessions, including discussions on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital media, the diversification of media content, and the role of media in promoting social values and supporting future generations.
One highlight will be the session titled Media as a Catalyst for Positive Parenting: Shaping Family and Community Well-being Together, which will examine how media can play a pivotal role in fostering positive values by presenting stories and resources that strengthen family bonds and encourage positive parenting.
The discussion will also address collaboration between media and governments to enhance family knowledge and build cohesive communities, positively impacting children's growth and development.
In the Art of Storytelling session, a group of creatives and content creators will share their expertise in crafting compelling and inspiring stories that resonate with global audiences. This interactive session will showcase techniques used by these creators to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression through personal narratives and powerful imagery.
The Covering Conflicts session will highlight the challenges journalists face when reporting from conflict zones, including ethical dilemmas and journalist safety. It will also explore the role of media in shaping public perceptions and influencing policies related to global conflicts.
A session titled AI-Proofing Media will focus on strategies to combat misinformation generated by AI technologies. It will include discussions on leveraging blockchain for content verification, AI-driven fact-checking tools, and ethical frameworks for using AI in media.
The session What Are People Consuming? will explore factors driving increased engagement across media platforms, from globally popular series to personalised data-driven content. Participants will discuss modern technologies that help media professionals better understand audience needs and enhance interaction levels.
Additionally, the session Foresight Media: How Can AI Predict Events and Guide Media? will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in forecasting trends, shaping news coverage, and driving content strategies within media organisations. By leveraging advanced AI tools, media professionals can anticipate events and identify emerging issues, enabling a proactive approach to journalism and content creation.
