The Ataya Initiative has provided several ambulances to support healthcare services in the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, directed by the wise leadership to meet the humanitarian needs of the people in Gaza.
The ambulances were sent as part of the fifth shipment that recently arrived at the Port of Arish in Egypt.
H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Assistant to the Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) for Women Affairs, and the wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, emphasised that Ataya has become one of the UAE's leading initiatives for promoting humanitarian and social development worldwide. It also plays a significant role in ensuring sustainable giving through its innovative projects in healthcare, education, and social services, meeting development goals in underserved communities.
Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan highlighted the severe challenges facing the healthcare sector in Gaza due to the ongoing crises, stating, "The Ataya Initiative carefully assessed the actual needs of the people there, leading to the decision to allocate proceeds from the latest Ataya exhibition to support humanitarian causes for Palestinians, particularly in healthcare."
Her Highness added that the ambulances were provided based on the urgent need to save lives and care for patients. “This initiative adds to the UAE's track record of supporting Palestinians, particularly in healthcare, through numerous programmes and initiatives that have strengthened Gaza's medical sector and offered extensive care to its people.”
Her Highness emphasised that these ambulances would help healthcare institutions fulfil their roles, enabling medical teams to reach patients and those injured in a timely manner and provide necessary care.
