As part of initiatives supporting the “UAE stands with Lebanon” campaign launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and following directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to launch a project ensuring the continuity of education in Lebanon, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has directed support for the project through the provision of 40,000 school bags.

This initiative is part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to enhance education and provide assistance to the people of Lebanon, particularly in light of the challenges facing the educational sector there.

Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Digital School's Board of Directors, emphasised ongoing efforts to implement the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed to strengthen the UAE’s role in humanitarian work and extend the reach of initiatives aimed at supporting communities worldwide.

He also highlighted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's guidance in fostering the UAE's humanitarian approach, supporting communities in need, and launching initiatives that bring hope for a better future for all.

He praised the support of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed for humanitarian initiatives, including his consistent directives to the ERC to enhance its participation in various humanitarian projects. This includes the education continuity project in Lebanon, which provides 40,000 school bags to meet the needs of students amid the difficult circumstances faced by the Lebanese people.

Al Olama noted that the project reflects the UAE's steadfast commitment to its humanitarian mission of fostering hope, creating opportunities for communities, and supporting aspirations for a brighter future.

He pointed out that the Digital School, one of the UAE's key humanitarian initiatives, offers innovative and sustainable educational solutions that enhance learning opportunities for children in underserved areas worldwide.

The "Lebanon Education Continuity Project" project was launched as part of the "UAE stands with Lebanon" campaign initiated by the UAE President to support the Lebanese people. On 30th October, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid directed the development of programmes through the Digital School to ensure education continuity in Lebanon amidst the ongoing challenges there.

Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERC, drew attention to the initiative to support education in Lebanon, which stems from the wise leadership’s directives, reinforces the UAE’s current efforts to assist fraternal people of Lebanon in all humanitarian domains.

He pointed out that the UAE was among the first countries to recognise its responsibility towards Lebanon and acted swiftly in response to the situation, mobilising its financial, human, and logistical resources. It also deployed volunteers and humanitarian organisations to make a significant impact on international relief efforts and mitigate the effects of the crisis on those affected.
