Members of the Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council (FNC) took part in the first session of the first term of the fourth legislative chapter of the Arab Parliament, chaired by Mohammed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament and member of the FNC.

The session was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The FNC Parliamentary Division members include Naama Al Sharhan, Deputy Chair of the FNC Parliamentary Division and member of the Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs; Majid Mohammed Al Mazrouei, member of the Committee on Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs; and Mohammed Hassan Al Dhuhouri, member of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee.

During the session, the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament presented their reports.

The Committee on Foreign, Political, and National Security Affairs discussed key developments and crises in Arab regions.

The Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs outlined its work plan, emphasising issues such as women, children, youth, education, research, health, environment, and culture.

The committee also highlighted the importance of unified Arab policies and monitoring progress on the Millennium Development Goals related to social issues in member states.

The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee presented its work plan for the term, reiterating its commitment to enhancing joint Arab action to achieve economic integration, boost investment, and promote intra-Arab trade, while creating suitable conditions for Arab economic unity.

Meanwhile, the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Committee discussed a draft law to combat illegal migration in the Arab world, along with initiatives to support and protect human rights across the region.
