Dubai Police have honoured a taxi driver for his exceptional honesty in returning valuable items worth Dh1 million

Working for Dubai Taxi Corporation, Egyptian resident Hamada Abu Zeid was lauded for his honesty by the Dubai Police after he returned Dh1 million worth of valuable items left behind in his taxi.

Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of Al Barsha Police Station, presented the recognition in the presence of Colonel Youssef Thani bin Qabaa Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of the station, Colonel Mostafa Mohamed Abdullah, Head of the Traffic Registration Department, and other officers.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Al Suwaidi commended Abu Zeid for embodying the noble values of integrity and responsibility that Dubai Police seek to promote in the community.

He noted that such acts of honesty help Dubai Police achieve its strategic goals of fostering public cooperation.

As part of the ceremony, Al Suwaidi awarded the taxi driver a certificate of appreciation, emphasising the importance of community collaboration in enhancing security and reinforcing positive values in society.

The senior officer praised the role that individuals like Abu Zeid play in strengthening the UAE’s reputation by supporting law enforcement efforts.

The Egyptian driver expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying that it was his duty to return the valuables to the police to ensure their safe return to the rightful owner.
