e& UAE, the telecommunications arm of e&, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi at GITEX Global 2024 to enhance connectivity of healthcare facilities through Sahatna, an integrated mobile app that empowers residents to manage their health.

In the presence of Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, the MoU was signed by Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health at DoH and Haitham Abdulrazzak, Chief Business Officer of e& UAE.

e& UAE will support the application using SD-WAN technology solution, allowing the app to seamlessly connect with healthcare facilities across Abu Dhabi. As a result, this technology will further enhance information exchange between facilities and patients, ensuring users experience a smooth and efficient healthcare journey.

The revolutionary integrated-mobile app provides simple and convenient access to a wide range of health and wellness services such as appointment booking, teleconsultations, access to health records and wellness and lifestyle genomic reports and many other advanced features.

Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health at DoH, said, “With the ongoing support of the UAE’s wise leadership and the dedication of our valued partners, we continue to establish a robust digital healthcare infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. With patients at the core of DoH’s priorities, we are now introducing innovative solutions like Sahatna, which unites our healthcare ecosystem to improve access, elevate care quality, and deliver personalised health services for everyone. Abu Dhabi is steadily strengthening its global standing as a leading healthcare hub, driving advancements in patient care and public health management. At the Department of Health– Abu Dhabi, our commitment lies in fostering a vibrant and healthy community, empowering our people to live better, healthier and more fulfilled lives.”

Haitham Abdulrazzak Chief Business Officer, e& UAE, said, "Our partnership with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi marks a significant step forward in transforming healthcare access. Through Sahatna, we are combining AI-driven insights and SD-WAN technology to provide patients with timely, reliable, and personalised support. This app is at the core of our vision to redefine healthcare by creating a smarter, more responsive ecosystem that empowers individuals to make informed decisions and achieve better health outcomes.”

Sahatna addresses the unique health needs of the Emirate’s community and ensures a healthier future for all residents. The launch of the app serves as a testament to the Department’s ongoing commitment to harnessing the power of data to create the world’s most intelligent, patient-centric healthcare system.

The Sahatna app aims to enhance the healthcare experience in Abu Dhabi for both residents and visitors who benefit from its prominent healthcare services. Users can connect their smart devices to the app to monitor their wellbeing. Through analysing users’ activity history, the app also offers personalised wellness goals, encouraging users to stay active and improve overall health.

During GITEX 2024 DoH participated under the Abu Dhabi Government pavilion, where they collaborated with key strategic partners within the healthcare ecosystem, showcased cutting-edge healthcare solutions aimed at delivering personalised care and empowering the community to take control of their health.
