GITEX2024: DoH to integrate AI-powered technologies for transformative care supported by Microsoft

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft on the sidelines of GITEX Global Week 2024.

The collaboration seeks to leverage Artificial Intelligence and data analytics to drive the future of healthcare innovation, transform patient care and enhance population health, reinforcing the Emirate’s position as a leader in digital health empowering a health-conscious population. 

In the presence of Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), The MoU was signed by Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director Digital Health at DoH, and Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE. 

Focused on providing personalised healthcare solutions, this MoU will leverage pioneering purpose-built AI models, Microsoft’s AI Copilot and conversational AI advisors to revolutionise patient care, streamline disease research and clinical trial predictions, and enhance decision-making in ecosystem monitoring and compliance. With security and data privacy as its core priorities, the collaboration integrates cutting-edge AI and data analytics to deliver accurate, timely insights that empower healthcare stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Through the MoU, the two entities will harness AI and advanced data analytics, extracting critical insights from vast structured and unstructured health data for a comprehensive approach to redefine care practices, enhance population health and elevate the healthcare ecosystem. The solutions will serve three objectives of revolutionising patient care with AI, delivering intelligent clinical trials and research and enhancing regulator decision-making all ensuring the highest health outcomes for patients and resident of Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is participating in GITEX Global Week 2024 under the Abu Dhabi Government pavilion from October 14 – 18, 2024.
