ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Just two weeks after its launch, the 'Together for Education' campaign has already raised more than Dh65 million.

Organised jointly by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an under the theme ‘Equipping minds, shaping futures,’ the campaign aims to allocate community contributions towards supporting low-income families in Abu Dhabi by covering overdue school fees.

The campaign saw an impressive support from major contributors, individuals, businesses, and public and private sector entities, all united to uphold the right of every student in the UAE to receive a quality education.

Supporting 6,000 Students
‘Together for Education’ campaign continues to welcome contributions until October 15, 2024, via the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an online platform or ATMs – through deposits made to the official bank account (AE130354031003988349007) at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the UAE dirham.

The campaign aims to raise Dh100 million through contributions from individuals and corporations from the Abu Dhabi community, to support 6,000 students.

The project will also assist in covering the operational costs of eligible schools in the UAE, as well as providing necessary school supplies.

Sustainable Positive Impact
Director General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, His Excellency Mohamed Haji Al-Khoury, highlighted how the 'Together for Education' campaign reflects the Foundation's strong focus on education as a main driver of progress towards a brighter future.

"Our support for this campaign embodies our commitment to helping those who face barriers to completing their education,” Al-Khoury stated.

"The response we've seen since the launch reflects the strong culture of social solidarity in our community and underscores the UAE’s leading role in humanitarian efforts. We are confident this momentum will continue, allowing us to achieve our objectives and create a lasting, positive impact on the lives of students,” he added.

Culture of Giving
Director General of the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al Ameri, said the ‘Together for Education’ campaigns embodies the Authority’s vision of creating collaborative communities to drive social impact, enabling individuals and organisations to contribute meaningfully, and building a flourishing culture of giving.

This was clearly evident by the community’s response to the campaign, His Excellency noted.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the campaign," Al Ameri said.

"Their generosity helps us achieve our goals of providing essential supplies and fulfilling the aspirations of students, ultimately empowering them to advance their skills and contribute positively to their communities, while ensuring a bright professional future for them. The campaign continues to welcome contributions from individuals and corporations who wish to support this noble cause and ensure access to education for all,” said His Excellency.
