TRENDS has launched its virtual office in Japan, aiming to strengthen partnerships with leading Japanese academic institutions, think tanks and research centers, and to establish TRENDS’ position as a major player in the Asia-Pacific region.
Reaffirming its commitment to enhancing global research collaboration and knowledge exchange, TRENDS launched the virtual office as part of its efforts to expand its global influence and leverage Japan's strategic importance in global affairs.
The TRENDS Tokyo office is managed by Prof. Satoshi IKEUCHI Professor of Religion and Global Security of Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology and Founding Chair of RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies University of Tokyo.
AI in Spotlight
As part of its efforts to highlight the importance of advanced technology and artificial intelligence, TRENDS has released its new book "Global Trends in AI", in Japan. The book aims to emphasise the priority of advanced technology and AI issues as key drivers of the global future. It opens the door for constructive scientific dialogue with the Japanese scientific community, highlights the diverse pathways for adopting and developing AI in both advanced and emerging economies, and underscores the importance of a collective human endeavor to shape a future where AI acts as a force for good.
Strategic Partnerships
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, stated that these steps are a culmination of TRENDS' efforts to build strategic partnerships with leading academic and research institutions worldwide, underscoring its commitment to contributing to a better future through scientific research and innovation.
He said, "TRENDS' global offices, which will number 15 by the end of 2024, are designed to enhance TRENDS' research activities, deepen its role, and gather and disseminate knowledge based on current events, creating a global knowledge bridge."
