Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), Saqr Ghobash, on Tuesday received the Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Dr. Tulia Ackson, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially parliamentary ties.
The two sides highlighted the UAE-Tanzania relations, which have seen significant growth thanks to the support of their leaderships and governments.
They stressed the need to strengthen parliamentary relations, to achieve the aspirations of both sides through enhanced consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting also addressed the existing cooperation and partnership between the FNC and the IPU, highlighting the importance of joint coordination between the two sides within the framework of their partnership and cooperation agreement, as well as their collaboration in organising conferences.
The meeting was attended by a number of FNC officials and members.
