Children in the UAE are treated with more dignity and enjoy better opportunities to learn and grow than many other developed countries worldwide, according to a new global survey released on Thursday.

The Gallup "Welfare Check on the World's Children" study revealed that the overwhelming majority of residents of the UAE (93%), Kuwait (96%), and Saudi Arabia (97%) said children in their countries are treated with respect and dignity, respectively ranking fifth, first, and second, globally.

These countries outpaced several developed countries like Ireland, Luxembourg, Singapore, and Switzerland, among others.

The countries where people are most and least likely to believe children have the opportunity to learn and grow do not necessarily align with those on the "respect and dignity" list, although there is some overlap, according to the report.

The survey results indicate strong positive perceptions for this measure in Gulf countries, with residents in the UAE (92%), Saudi Arabia (92%), and Kuwait (95%) maintaining the belief that children in their respective countries have the opportunity to learn and grow.
