ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Friday has issued an update on the tropical storm situation northeast of Arabian Sea.

The tropical storm will continue during the next 48 hours, NCM said in a statement.

Classified as a tropical storm, it has wind speeds of 70-80 kmph while the tropical storm speed is 7 kmph.

Impact on the country

NCM said there is an indirect impact on the country by the flow of clouds from the Arabian Sea on the eastern and southern regions, which may be accompanied by rain, and rough sea in the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Gulf.

There is a possibility of sea water extending on some beaches - east coast in the period of high tide - on Sunday and Monday.

The center was following up the situation around the clock and provide updates on the development, urging everyone to follow the bulletins and reports issued by the center and not to spread rumours, NCM added.
