Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, said Emirati women have proven their potential to address challenges and lead national development efforts in the most vital sectors.

“With their determination, dedication, and sincerity, they have achieved the country's national goals and have fulfilled their roles to the fullest extent, solidifying their pioneering position as partners in building the UAE's present and future,” Al Shehhi said in a statement marking the Emirati Women's Day, which is celebrated on August 28.

He highlighted the theme "We Collaborate for Tomorrow" launched by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, (Mother of the Nation) Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).

He said that the theme carries significant developmental and social importance.

"It reflects the wise leadership's efforts in empowering and supporting Emirati women to reach the advanced level they have achieved today. Emirati women now hold the highest leadership positions, equipped with knowledge, creativity, innovation, and future planning abilities in various fields, making them a role model of pride regionally and globally."

CEO of Strategy and Media Policy at UAE Media Council, Maitha Majed Al Suwaidi, said that Emirati Women's Day is a national occasion that reflects the achievements and gains of Emirati women, who have accomplished these successes with the support of the wise leadership and the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.

In her statement on the occasion, she explained that this day is a symbol of inspiration for everyone to continue the journey towards a bright future for the country.

Emirati women, she indicated, have become a symbol of creativity and leadership and have played a pivotal role in developing the media sector from its inception.

"They have also demonstrated their ability to engage with developments and actively contribute to building a media landscape that conveys the UAE's message, embodies its vision and values, and strengthens its position on the international stage."

She also called on Emirati women to continue developing their capabilities and take advantage of the abundant opportunities within the country to remain capable of facing challenges, positively impacting their society, and creating new opportunities that contribute to building a more distinguished future.
