JUMA AL NUAIMI (ABU DHABI)

National Ambulance (NA), part of the National Guard Command, has announced it has treated 575,646 patients in the Northern Emirates, with 356,109 of these patients transported to hospitals for further treatment since its inception in 2014.

The organisation has handled 1,242,639 emergency calls, providing round-the-clock pre-hospital emergency medical care in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. This service is supported by a modern fleet of advanced ambulances and a highly qualified medical team.

NA’s operations extend to the air, in cooperation with the Air Wing Department at the General Directorate of Security Support at the Ministry of Interior. The air ambulance service, staffed by experienced paramedics, doctors, medical operations officers, and support staff, ensures rapid response and transport for patients in remote areas or severe traffic accidents, using helicopters.

The organisation adheres to best practices of standardised and accredited protocols, ensuring international standards of care. With teams and ambulances stationed at 60 locations, NA provides immediate response and support at accident sites and during public health crises.

Emergency calls are received through the ambulance emergency number 998, the NA 998 smart app, or via police and civil defence operation rooms. NA teams work in close coordination with police and civil defence to respond to fires, car accidents, multi-injury incidents, and other emergencies.
