The Dubai Municipality has unveiled the second phase of its “Future Talents” scholarship programme, designed to guide and support UAE national university students pursuing scientific disciplines that are in high demand within the job market. The initiative reflects the Municipality’s commitment to providing promising opportunities for students, fostering skill development, and aligning with the Emiratisation policy in the Emirate of Dubai.
The scholarship programme is open to students from a variety of fields, including civil and architectural engineering, agricultural engineering and sciences, public health, environmental sciences, sustainability and environmental health, food security, and information systems with a specialisation in data science and business solutions, as well as information technology with specialisation in application development, networking, and cloud computing.
The eligibility criteria for joining the “Future Talents” programme stipulate that the scholarship recipient must be a UAE citizen, enrolled in the third or fourth academic year in one of the required majors, with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Additionally, the recipient should not be pursuing multiple scholarships simultaneously, and any male applicant should have completed his national service.
Aisha Al Hammadi, Director of Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, stated: “Through the ‘Future Talents’ scholarship programme, Dubai Municipality aims to empower talented Emirati students, aiming to enhance the sustainability and development of human resources. We provide opportunities to expand their scientific knowledge, gain practical experience, and develop specialised capabilities. Our goal is to prepare them to face future challenges.”
