The Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa, Anne-Claire Legendre, has praised the UAE's leading role in establishing the foundations of a global system of peace, harmony, tolerance, and human brotherhood through its adoption of peace diplomacy.
She noted that and the UAE is utilising its material and political resources to bring together viewpoints, reduce intensity of conflicts, stand by victims of crises, and rebuild stricken areas in various regions.
This came during her meeting yesterday at the Élysée Palace with Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum Shaikh Al-Mahfouz bin Bayyah where they discussed a number of important issues related to the challenges facing peace efforts in the face of growing hate speech and mutual exclusion, and the escalation of violent conflicts around the world.
The French advisor expressed appreciation to her government for the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, especially the ‘African Peace Conference’ initiative and the essential role it plays in countering violent extremism in the Sahel Region and Sudan.
In a related context, the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum met with Jean-Christophe Peaucelle, the French Advisor for Religious Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who expressed the French administration's commitment to supporting and accompanying these peace-oriented efforts.
