Dubai Police has launched "Close to You" initiative that aims to understand the needs of employees and achieve advanced levels of sustainable happiness among the personnel.

Major General Ali Ahmad Ghanem, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Community Happiness and Logistic Support, and Major General Dr. Saleh Abdulla Murad, Director of the General Department of Human Resources, met with employees of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergencies as part of the "Close to You" initiative.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Hassan Al-Hafiti, Director of the Initiatives and Projects Department at the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Al Asmawi, Head of the Happiness and Positivity Section at the General Department of Human Resources, and several officers and personnel attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Major General Ali Ghanem praised the significant role played by the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergencies employees in achieving the goals of Dubai Police and excelling in their work. He pointed out that such meetings with employees aim to enhance effective and purposeful communication to improve the services provided to them.

Direct Communication

Major General Ali Ghanem emphasised Dubai Police's keenness to encourage and honour outstanding employees, commend their efforts, and provide various health, housing, education, and financial benefits.

He indicated that such communication with them results in identifying areas for improvement in the services offered, which positively reflects and enhances loyalty values, achieving harmony and cohesion in performing various job tasks.

Major General Ghanem clarified that Dubai Police values the effort of every employee who works diligently to achieve crime-fighting indicators, maintain security and safety, and ensure the happiness of the public dealing with Dubai Police.

Positive Work Environment

Major General Dr. Saleh Murad explained that Dubai Police is always keen to provide a positive and happy work environment for employees through organising various initiatives. Additionally, it is committed to appreciating employees' efforts through continuous recognition and motivation.

He affirmed that Dubai Police pays great attention to achieving and sustaining the happiness of its employees, realising that the effects of job satisfaction significantly reflect on productivity and work performance quality, enhancing initiative and creativity, ultimately reflecting on achieving external public happiness indicators.

Enhancing Communication

Major General Dr Saleh pointed out that following up on employees' needs is a priority for Dubai Police by providing different channels to enhance communication between employees and officials. 

"This commitment from the senior leadership aims to open communication channels with employees to listen to them and understand their demands, opinions, complaints, and suggestions, leading to achieving high-performance indicators," he said. 

"Close to You"

Major General Dr. Saleh Murad explained that these meetings and field visits with employees are part of the "Close to You" initiative, which aims to understand employees' needs. 

"The initiative includes visits to all general departments, police stations, and especially field departments that directly contribute to achieving vital indicators," he explained. 

 Major General Dr. Murad affirmed Dubai Police's commitment to launching exceptional and pioneering initiatives and services for employees that exceed their expectations, which is in line with the leadership's vision. 

Employees' Services

Both Major General Ali Ghanem and Major General Dr. Saleh Murad reviewed the services and efforts made by Dubai Police to ensure employee happiness in various aspects, most notably educational services, housing programmes, social and health services, and other services provided by Dubai Police to employees.

Major General Ali Ahmed Ghanem and Major General Dr. Saleh Abdullah Murad transparently listened to the department's employees' observations regarding the workflow.

Employees presented a set of observations, suggestions, and inquiries about ways to develop work and employee conditions. Major General Ali Ghanem and Major General Dr. Saleh Murad responded to them, directing some follow-up and considering the possibility of implementing some suggestions.

Job Stability

At the end of the visit, Major General Ali Ahmed Ghanem and Major General Dr. Saleh Abdullah Murad reiterated that the goal of these continuous field visits is to ensure that the employees' voices reach officials and to work on fulfilling their needs in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
